YELLOW OSTRICH

Alex Schaaf is Yellow Ostrich. He is an up-and-coming musician from Wisconsin, although he recently relocated to the Big Apple. He went to college with Alex Bunke, drummer extraordinaire, so the Jeanna Salzer Band has shared the bill with him and he guests on our most recent recording endeavor. As a return favor of sorts, Al and I play a bit on his most recent album, The Mistress, which has been getting attention from Pitchfork and Paste Magazine and they were recently signed to Barsuk Records.

You should really investigate his stuff regardless of my playing on it. It's really fantastic, and he gives it away for free.
